8月31日 Up northI can't say how happy I am to be back up north. The house is great. I love this being "grown up" thing. Now all I need is to find a job to pay for all of it. Classes are great. I missed my 3 hour one last monday night... but I failed to find out that they had switched it from Wed to Mon. I am so impressed with campus this year though. My sister has free cable in her room, They fixed a bunch of the sidewalks, and I hear you can pick up wireless internet anywhere on campus. The wireless internet in here is pretty sweet too. It's great to be back in the social life again too. I didn't realize how quiet life was this summer. Though the drinking thing is kinda outta hand. Not for me, but Michelle has called me at least once every night this week asking if I want to come over and drink. I guess tommorrow night is the night for me. I love thursday nights. We all went mini golfing last night for free. WE took Sam and Holly. I think she was excited to go- I think her friends need to be more involved with whats going on. Tonight is bowling, but it's always so crowded there. I think It will be a good social opportunity though. I think we're going out to get material for curtains tonight. Seeing as how I'm the only one going to be up here this weekend, I think I'll get those all made up. 7月24日 It's so hotI can't believe how hot it has been lately. Thank god for pools and AC.
Went to go see Jamie in Carson this weekend. Good fun with her. Went to the "camp moon." I thought it was great how I just sat around ALL afternoon and watched all these men (and a few gals) shoot off rifles and drink beer. Alot of fun. They kept wanting me to shoot a gun, but of course I feel to goofy with all of those people watching me and never have shot anything bigger than a beebee gun. The grandma told me though before I left that she and I could come back some other time and she'd show me how. How awesome is that. I wish my grandma could show me how to shoot a gun. They had an awesome setup back there. It was just like the grandma and grandpa's back forty where they had a little hunting shack and a makeshift shooting range. Oh, and a pond. I told dad that we needed to do that on our farming property. He just kinda agreed. Hmmmm... I get so frustrated with him sometimes.
Anyway, today was spent working on all my unfinished buisiness around here. Going through my stuff I have found 6 unfinished quilts. And I still have to finish my dining room set and my desk, and painting my bed frame. And mom went to Grandma Arlene's auction yesterday and picked me up a bunch of kitchen utensils for the house. That was exciting. I am getting so excited to move up there.
Jamie's sister had her b/f at the shoot out yesterday, I swear.. once I find "the one" he is going to be exactly like this guy. Hot, stylish, funny, friendly, and all about living in the country. And his toys are icing on the cake. I saw Mike today also... hanging out in McDonald's parking lot with his latest girlfriend (wow- you're cool) Luckily mom had sent me up town in the Brand new Dodge, so I was cruisin' in that thing. I love it... And I love the way he turned to watch me go by... heehee. The upsides to having X's are fun.
Anyway, tommorrow I get to go to the Lawyer's office to talk about getting the points off of my liscence for the BS ticket that that asshole cop gave me. If anyone has ever gotten a "careless driving" ticket (worth $170 and 3 pts) for crossing the yellow line unexpectedly... let me know.
Anyway, I can't believe that July is almost done. Next up... county fair... yee haw! 7月11日 Back to RealityWell, It's monday, and I have to be to work by 11. This week off for Vacation really sucks. But I ended up having a great time. There was never a point where I just sat around out of sheer boredom, I was always busy with something. THe trip with the cousins went great. Oscoda was beautiful. Thu night it did take us forever to find a campsite. We had all planned for a modern campsite, but ended up staying in a national/state forest for all 4 nights. I was so happy to take a shower and sleep in my own bed last night. Friday we spent all day at the beach while the boys went out riding, Saturday, all of us spent the morning on the beach. It was so much fun, becuase the boys had never really been to a real Great Lakes sandy beach before. They had a blast. We buried Caleb and Sam in the sand. Sat afternoon, we went canoeing down the AuSauble. I (the 'smart' one) decided that we should take the 4 hour trip that they offered. 5 hours later we docked at the rental place- worn out, and kinda drunk. WE saw a one legged canadian goose though- that was interesting. Sunday we packed up and went back to the beach one last time. We walked out to the pier where the river meets the lake. We walked lik a mile from our place on the beach to this peir, and come to find out the pier wa son the other side of the river. But Caleb (after I told him I'd give him $5) jumped into the river and swam across to the other side, climbed out and walked on the peir. I'm sure there's some law against that, but we didn't get caught. Seems like we always break the law with those boys somehow.
Anyway, I get to deal with nasty kids who've been out of daycare for a whole week. I think it's going to be a rough day. 7月6日 It's been greatWell, "vacay" is half over. I spent the 4th with the parents. Yesterday, I drove up to the Sault with Ivy and Steph. It turned out to be an awesome trip. We stopped off in St. Ignace, and drove through town. We drove past where Michelle works, and I wanted to stop in, but I felt dumb going in and seeing her at work, so we kept going. By the time we got to the gas station, I had a new voicemail, So It ended up being her. She was like, "I just saw this girl drive by, and she looked exactly like you, but she was driving a truck." I called her back and we drove back down and saw her. She works for one of the Ferries for Mac. Island, So she gave us free tickets and we went over to the Island. It was the first time in like 15 years for Ivy and I. We just walked around and looked in the shops. We were too poor to go into any of the attractions. Maybe next year.
Anyway, when we got up to the Sault, I bought paint and stopped into the LandLord's house. We primed my room and then went out to the Lock's park for a picnic supper. We went to the pier downtown and then stopped in and said hello to Denise. It was nice to see her. After all of that, I put the 1st coat of paint on. It's a light lime green. I love it. It looks awesome. We didn't finish with that till about 11, so while it was drying, we went to the Locks again, and watched a boat go through. It was alot of good sisterly bonding time.
I spent the night for the first time in my house. I didn't get the 2nd coat on, but there's always another weekend for that. We had to rush home this morning so Ivy could get to work by 2 today. I came home and worked on getting the old paint (all 3 coats of it) off of my bed. It's ready to be painted when I get back from Oscoda... and bailing hay. Rrrr.
Tommorrow H&S, and I go up to Oscoda with the boys. I think they are going out on the trails on friday... Caleb is going to Alpena to ride tractors... and us ladies are going to lay on the beach Alll Day Long. Yes! I can't wait. I haven't been camping is so long. Well, not since the "cousin canoe trip" last year. At least this year I can take a shower. (Thumbs up for electricity while camping). Ivy and Shawn are meeting us on Saturday, and who knows if the other cousins will show up. We aren't the "fun" side of the family for them I think.
Anyway, besides all the bad feelings that being in the sault brought up, life is good. I can't get my mind off of what happened at the end of semester. I should have stood up for myself, and I keep thinking I should, but it's too late now. I wish people didn't hate me for something I wrote when I was angry... Or for doing with I thought was the right thing to do. 6月11日 One night in JuneSo tonight is dad's birthday. We celebrated. I gave up a day with Aubry on the lake for it, but I know down the road I will really value the desision I made. Anyway, I'll drive up and see her on Tues. It's been a pretty quiet day. We got home from the pond house at about 10 this morning. Last night was alot of fun at Caleb's grad party. Alot of visiting and then finished with some drinking. I got a little smashed on a little alcohal- it's pretty sad when I got drunk off of what I drank, but my tolerance isn't has high, which is a good thing. ANyway, it go to the point where I was talking to the bullfrogs on the pond and Ben had to tuck me in. What a good cousin. Anyway, tommorrow, I think I'm going to strip my dresser and my desk for the house. I want to get that stuff moved up there when I go up over the week of the 4th. 6月4日 Life is good.I absolutely love my job at the daycare. The kids are so much fun to hang out with. I would have never pictured spending my summer with a bunch of little kids, but it's okay. My boss also offered me a job at her tanner- which is cool. More hours is great for me. There's also this chick that's getting fired, so I am picking up some of her hours as well. Thank the Lord for this job. The great thing about all of this- no weekends! As of now, anyway. Probably once I start at the tanner, I'll work saturdays- but it's a job. No problem. Bay City tonight- going to hang out with Alli and celebrate her b-day. I haven't seen her since last summer. I was supposed to go out to Steph's last night in Lansing, but my car is still acting up, and I don't trust it. I can't wait till Caleb's party next Friday. Ben is already putting plans in the works for "no parents." He really likes drinking with me. He keeps telling me that I can go to Allison's with him, becuase they don't check ID there. IT was so funny, he told me last weekend that I'm the "fanciest" cousin he has... heehee. 5月20日 The ListHopefully you guys will come and look at this from time to time:
